Coonoor is a hill station located at an elevation of 1850 m, in the Nilgiris district of Tamil Nadu, India. It is a unique hub where a truly cosmopolitan outlook and a truly indigenous soul come together in the form of the diverse communities who call this beautiful montane location home.

It is also a part of  the Nilgiris Biosphere Reserve, the largest protected forest area in the country, which is located in a UNESCO designated biodiversity hotspot, making it a biodiversity and ecology treasure trove – and home to a vast number of species of flora and fauna.
