Jackie Morris has over thirty years' experience writing and illustrating, and her books appeal to an incredibly broad age range. The success of The Lost Words, created in partnership with Robert Macfarlane has become quite a phenomenon, with successful campaigns nationwide to place a copy within every primary school across the UK, including Somerset and Devon. In 2019, The Lost Words was awarded the prestigious CILIP Kate Greenaway Medal, the only prize in the UK to solely reward outstanding illustration in a children's book. The Lost Spells saw the continuation of their successful collaboration and Book of Birds is awaited with much anticipation. Jackie was honoured to have been nominated for the IBBY 2024 Hans Christian Andersen Award - the highest international recognition given to creators of children’s books whose complete works have made an important, lasting contribution to children's literature.
