Latha Menon is a storyteller at heart, weaving visuals and words into narratives that linger. As founder of
Iris Film, she has directed and produced over 200 commercials for leading brands, each grounded in her belief that character is where every story begins—whether in the hands of a farmer, a traditional weaver, or a screen icon.
Her practice moves fluidly between advertising, documentary, and cinema. She has created films for social causes and cultural institutions, celebrating lived realities and India’s timeless crafts. Her music video “Vaal Paarai Vata Paarai” was ranked among MTV’s Top 100 in 1999.
Trained at Sophia College, Bombay, and on the sets of Mani Ratnam’s
Kannathil Muththamittal and
Dil Se, she refined a cinematic language that values insight as much as innovation.
In 2019, she co-founded Mindscreen Cinemas, producing
Sarvam Thaalamayam and Amazon Prime’s
Mugakavasa Mutham. Today, alongside her films, she mentors emerging voices, ensuring the next generation carries forward storytelling rooted in empathy, clarity, and imagination.
